Support that starts with you

The road to a job does not look the same for everyone. That is why we start by listening. What have you done before? Where do you want to go? What is standing in your way? Based on that, we make a plan that fits your situation, not a template that looks the same for everyone.

The pace is adapted to you. Some want to apply for jobs from day one, others first need to find a direction. We are there either way, with regular meetings and follow-up all the way.

What we work on

  • Mapping: we go through your experience, skills and goals, and what might stand in your way.
  • A plan with interim goals that we follow up and adjust along the way.
  • A CV and cover letter that show what you can actually do.
  • Interview practice with real questions.
  • Job search and matching: we look for jobs together and introduce you to employers we are in contact with.
  • Study and career guidance if you would rather study further.
  • Digital tools: applications, emails and job sites.

How often we meet

You have an individual meeting with your coach every fourteen days. At least every four weeks you meet at our office, and the first meeting is always there. The other meetings can be digital. Between meetings you have activities every week, for example job searching or exercises.

Prepare and Match (Rusta och matcha) lasts six months. Arbetsförmedlingen can extend it by at most six more months if you need more time.

Compensation in the meantime

Prepare and Match is part of a programme at Arbetsförmedlingen. That is why you can apply for compensation from Försäkringskassan, for example activity support, development allowance or introduction benefit. Every month you submit an activity report to Arbetsförmedlingen, between the 1st and the 14th.

Important since 1 June 2026

If you miss an activity without a valid reason, your compensation can be suspended straight away, without a warning first. If you cannot come to a meeting, contact us in advance.

When you get a job

The goal is a job or studies that last. When you get an offer, we help you with the practical side before the job starts, so that the transition is as smooth as possible. No one can promise you a job, but we do everything we can so that you are ready when the chance comes.

Want to read more about the rules? See our guide on how Prepare and Match works.
